Default Liber-t European toll road tag

Hi, I have purchased the above to use whilst caravanning in France next year. I have a 2008 XC60 D5 SE with City Safety and Adaptive Cruise. The instructions for fitting the tag say that, as there is no dark mottled/black shaded area of the windscreen, the tag should be fitted to the casing of the City Safety/Adaptive cruise equipment.
Where exactly should I fit the tag on the casing? Has anyone experience of fitting these tags?
I would appreciate members' comments
Many thanks

Hi Roy

We positioned ours just to the left of the rear-view mirror when we toured through France and Switzerland this summer. I placed it in the main part of the window, but out of view behind the rear view mirror and it worked flawlessly. It was such a bonus when heading through the Peages. I didn't want to fix it to the plastic part of the City Safety as I wanted to ensure it came off without breaking anything when removed.

Hope this helps?

Doc

Same position here - used one in June and it worked perfectly.

I positioned mine on the right side behind the mirror as I have a dash camera on the left. The right hand side was a mistake, the first peage we came to, it didn't work. After that, my wife held the tag against the windscreen at each peage and it worked every time. Our trip to Switzerland, France and Belgium was made so much easier having the tag.

Left of the rear view mirror, about one or two fingers width down from the top of the screen works well.

A good tip is to hold the holder in place with your hand rather than sticking it on the windscreen the first time you go through one of the peages just to make sure that it works there, before sticking it. And be sure to stick the holder the right way round so you can slide the actual tag out to the left. If you stick the holder on the other way round you wont be able to slide the tag in and out because the mirror is in the way. I learned that from experience. Doh!

I was about to post - "leave room to slide it out and not snag the mirror" - as I very nearly made that mistake too!
