Faulty auxillary air control valve?

'88740GL Senior Member Last Online: Jun 2nd, 2013 22:00 Join Date: Jun 2010 Location: salford	Faulty auxillary air control valve? alright, so the haynes manual ststes that it should be open, or at least partially....i've looked and taken it off the car and its open by about 3-4mm i understand that when cold it should be open and a once the car heats up, it should close? i'm confused! anyway i dont see it move whatsoever and its the type that cannot be opened, though the valve inside can be freely move open, and it springs back shut..... Having a crappy cold idle that just cannot be traced back to anything else lol
