Well I've finally taken the plunge and replaced our old 51 reg V70 D5 with a 2008 V70 D5 SE Sport (185) Manual. First impressions are that build quality particularly with the interior is much better than the old one, seats aren't quite as comfortable, more space inside, loads more gadgets - it's got PCC, Laminated glass, Comms pack, family pack, ventilated seats etc. etc. It seems a lot quieter on a run which I guess is partly down to the laminated side windows.

Only downside to it is the fuel consumption which is shockingly bad. Whereas our old V70 would consistently do 38-40mpg and our C70 D5 Auto does about 36mpg the new V70 is only doing about 31mpg on similar routes. It's done about 9000 miles now so should be loosed up. I didn't expect it to be as good as the old V70 but this is ridiculous. Hopefully things may improve as the weather gets warmer but not good at the moment !

On a plus note we've had none of the problems with the electronic handbrake that other people have mentioned, just works as it should.
