Unhappy V70/XC70 Trailer Indicator Light

Hi,
If any Forum Members are Owners of V70/XC70 and tow a Trailer or Caravan then please be aware that if your vehicle goes through a 'Software Update' during a 'Routine Service' by Volvo then you will lose the 'Trailer Indicator Light' function on the dashboard!

It appears that an Engineer in Volvo Car has decided that it's 'not required' and had removed the facility, sadly the documentation advising of this is not quite forthcoming.

I will be going back to the previous version of the Software Update as currently the vehicle does not match the Drivers Handbook.

I would add that it has taken me in the region of 6 weeks to establish this situation from Volvo Sweden Customer Service.

So is there an audible warning that the trailer indicator light is working? Pretty sure its a legal requirement that there is 'a system' to alert the drive of bulb failure.
