But is the ‘Automatic retraction when Locking’ also enabled within ‘My Car’ settings at the same time as you manually folded in the mirrors and then unlocked the car.

Yes I have it set to auto. You need not worry, your mirrors will stay retracted. I have done this a few times when sat in my car in a very narrow road just to ensure they do not get clipped by passing cars, then I had left the car and locked it and picked my grand daughter up from school and when I have unlocked the car the mirrors have stayed folded, the first time I only noticed as I went to pull away and could not see if it was safe to pull out.

Asked my wife to unlock the car for me as I am still away. I can confirm the door mirrors didn’t extend upon unlocking the car. Thanks to all who gave the information that I required.

Valid point; before unlocking, to be on the precautionary side, my wife threw a old duvet from the driver’s side of the car on to the door mirror on the other side. The mirrors stayed retracted upon unlocking the car just as few people reassured me here.
