Certainly sounds like dodgy wiring earthing out somewhere. I wonder if it could also be the stalk itself?

This is almost certainly on the power side (i.e. post-CEM), whereas the stalk (unlike on older cars!) is switching a control signal only.

cheers

James

Might be a bit late but have you checked that your light are not switched toside lights ? With daylight running light switched on all looks ok until night time when you want main beam then it will only work on the flash stalk but wont stay switched on . Guess how I found out :-)

yeh I checked that. I have the light control all the way turned to the right.

When I put a fuse in I can get the main beam to stay on for around a day. I had it constantly on for around 20 mins the last time I tried.

The next day I went to use the main beam to flash an oncoming vehicle it blew the fuse instantly.

still bemused by this.

It really sounds like an intermittent short in the wiring.

Have you had chance to locate the relay in order to test the wiring? I might be able to look it up on VIDA for you if you're struggling to locate it.

cheers

James

Ok, I've made a note. Leave it with me. Give me a prompt if you haven't heard anything in a few days!

cheers
