Default Reversing Camera

I am looking to order an XC60.

Does anyone have opinions / experiences of the rear view camera ?

An excellent option on a vehicle the size of an xc60. I went for it having had difficulty reversing accuratly in my previous estate. Initially I found its use confusing, but it turned out to need dealer adjustment as it was misaligned. After that it was fine. Used in conjunction with rear sensors it enables very accurate parking. You can see that when the sensor display goes red you are only a matter of inches from an object such as a wall. (It's probably a good idea to also use the wing mirrors as well though, helps give a comprehensive picture of your manoevre).

I agree in general.....it's very useful but not entirely necessary.

I find it most useful for spotting my daughter's toys which she's abandoned in the driveway (although for some reason I never manage to spot the noisy toys...). And the Jinglies in the underground car parks who have the habit of pushing their washless car clean carts right behind you....

I have the camera and it's good. One problem I have it the image never looks that crisp and often looks foggy? Anyone else have this problem? I do find it good though and it helps me not to hit the 20" wheels on the kerb.

Yes, just wipe your finger around the camera lens at the back (i suppose a cloth would be better, but I didn't have one at the time) It will make a world of difference.

I must agree - Excellent option, I,ve used the rear park assist which is good, on a hired XC60, however the camera is Great, much more accurate aid in parking, on the unit I'm getting...

I would say that the rear view camera is a must on the XC60!

If you tow a Caraven or trailer it is invaluable when hitching up.

At first I thought it was a bit gimmicky, I would not buy a car of similar size without one now, its immensely handy.
