they are very similar s80 is a tad bigger but if you have had any large volvos before i doubt if you will find much difference between the 2 when driving.

The S60 is quicker and probably handles better.
The S80 is bigger, and cossets rear seat passengers a bit more. I've driven an early P3 S80 D5 and I found it to be OK if slightly underwhelming. Later facelift examples with the Sensus infotainment system will be better. My wife owns a 2018 P3 S60 D4 R Design Lux Nav, and it's rather good to drive and comfy to sit in. Handling is great and performance is excellent. For you, I suspect that you'll need to have a chat with your heart after driving both types of car.

Assuming we are talking about 2nd generation S60 and S80 ("P3").
Personally I'd take the S80 for the following reasons: - Looks elegant and understated especially in black, with larger wheels. - The pre-facelift interior, in the right colour combination i.e black dashboard with the open-pore wood inserts, looks very classy indeed. - It's bigger/more spacious I'm sure the S60 is decent car, but the visual design of the front end has always looked strange to me...Theres just something off about them. Personally I'd go for an XC60 in R-design trim rather than a S60, because those have a much sharper design all round. I saw a MK1 XC60 parked next to the latest MK2 XC60, and the original actually looked more modern and distinctive imho! |

I found the S80 big, relaxed and comfy, while the S60 felt more sporty but was very firm. Loved both (if automatic invest in Polestar!) Big and wafty, sleek and sporty. Test drive! Enjoy either way!

If you want space and comfort, go for the S80.

My brother had a S60 and then changed to a S80 which he thought was a big improvement. I also preferred the S80 as a big comfortable cruiser.

Legroom in the P2 S60 is really poor. In the P3 S60, it's the same as in the V70, i.e. middling, but set a bit lower.

Good to know. Leg room isn’t great in the P3’s… it’s adequate (just about for taller/bigger people). Volvo S80’s and V70’s are big cars, but there’s just as much rear space in a Skoda Octavia (which is a smaller vehicle).
