Default Intercooler Hose

Morning All,

My XC90 (2005, D5, 163bhp) stranded me and the caravan on the M6 yesterday......Intercooler hose literally popped off the lower connection to the solid plastic pipe that goes under the engine to the Turbo. The Recovery chap re-attached it and off on my merry way I went, only for it to pop off again 10 miles down the road .

So whilst I get a new hose and clamps, what else should I be looking at.....could it be just as simple as the hose as gone too soft and new one will sort it?

How do I check its not over boosting the system and all a new pipe will do is force another hose to fail in system?

Cheers
Gazzaa

I've never ever seen one of those pop off , best get a new one it has probably gone soft with oil over the years . tighten it well though .

I've had this happen on my V70 when not VERY tight.
Maybe replace the jubilee with a new one (or two) but aim to replace the hose when you can.
