Ok cool, is there any warning to show it's been done correctly?

Nope, no warnings. You may here some hiss from the throttle pedal, although the most evident effect is the improved responsiveness of the car. It's a universal procedure, it works on BMWs, VAGs, and Volvos too. Here's a description. It's very easy: basically you press start button for some seconds without touching brake and clutch (so that the engine doesn't turn on) until the dash comes on with all the lights. Then you press full throttle for 30 seconds (that's the reset). After that you press start button again to turn of the dash, wait a bit and then fire the engine up.
It's not really a full ECU reset, it only clears throttle body data.

I've done the reset, and it still judders, so my question is do you think it would be ok to get from southport to looe in Cornwall? Around 400 miles? Thanks in advance guys.

Sorry to hear it didn't work, it may improve driving aggressively (now your ECU is fresh) for some miles. Regarding your incoming long journey, the car should be fine, the stutter being more annoying that harmful. Maybe you could go for a check to the dealer just to be sure.
One important thing to verify is the oil level, it should be at the half of the digital dipstick in the dash. When I was experiencing the stutter it was rising high up to the last bar, due to diesel dilution for DPF regens. If it gets too high it's very dangerous as it can be sucked up in the turbo and start a self-combustion of the engine.

How do I access it on the dash? I didn't think you could, it's a 62 plate.

Keep trying, you just need to get the sequence correct

Just read further down the post and found you have to hold the start stop button lol, I'll go try that now. Also is there any way to clear the engine system service required symbol on the LCD screen, the orange light one isn't on. Thanks again.
