Nice easy, quick repair
Open the hatch in the load space and you can feel the lock. Release the two torx screws on the outside, push it in through the hole, and retrieve it from the load space. Disconnect and dismantle everything (make a note of how the pins locate) and run the motor continuously for a few seconds in each direction from a 12v source. They get sticky but free up when reved up!
Lube the worm drive with silicon grease, reassemble and off you go. I’ve seen vids dismantling 1/2 the car to get at it but it’s easy to reach if you just stick your arm up the hole! |

On mine, a portion of the threads had stripped on the main drive gear which stopped it working. I built the damaged area up with araldite then filed a couple of new teeth. Much to my surprise its still working a year later!
