You could always bodge it with k-seal or similar if you don't want to do the HG?

Possible early signs of the EGR cooler leaking. Try bypassing the cooler for 50 or so miles and monitor the coolant level.

Bodge with k seal???? No no no no no not a fan of "bottle repairs".
It's not egr cooler there is no leaks anywhere the coolant blows out the expansion bottle. It's definitely compression in the coolant. This one won't be repaired the po did not want the expense of investigating and il drive it until it blows up or a customer needs an expensive part, then it will be dismantled.

I had the exact same thing on my old s60 03 d5 with 190000 on the clock it was the head gasket that had gone but didn’t want to spend the money on it. Two bottles of steel seal in it and it sorted it took about 3 weeks and all the pressure had gone from it and I ran it for a year until I chopped it in. I’m not a fan of bottle fixes but it did work and really well.
