Default Gearbox Swap M56 to M66

Hello lads

Im proud owner of my kickass MY01 V70 with 2.5TDI rock solid and powerfull engine. Own car already for 5 years and it has never let me down. Have tortured it out of stock 140bhp to smooth 205bhp on crank. Now that im going to replace flywheel and clutch, i was wondering. Is it possible to change gearbox too? I know that mine is M56L2 with 3.77 final gear ratio, and i know M66C21-R has same final gear ratio and has 6 gears. You will probably ask - why should i do it? well, i do run long distances on motorway and like to do it fast too. Answer is to save fuel. There no problems to get gearbox out of scrap yard. Has anyone tried it before and will there be a benefits? Now im doing about 55mpg on motorway at speed 70-75mph (Danish roads). And extra urban does around 30mpg. Thanks, and sorry if question is stupid or been discussed already (tried search, but no luck - perhaps wrong key words). and sorry for my bad english.
Have a great day.
