Default S40 Seat question.

Hi all, i have recently bought a 2008 S40 1.6 and love it but for the Drivers seat.I can't seem to adjust it so that i don't have what feels like a metal ridge running underneath my backside ? Also the Lumbar adjustment just turns without adjusting anything.Does anyone have any ideas that i could try, apart from this the car is mint with very low mileage so I'm very pleased with it. It is my second Volvo and won't be my last... Thanks.

Feeling a metal ridge in the seat cushion suggests the foam padding has collapsed - does the upholstery look 'saggy' compared with the passenger seat?

The lack of lumber adjustment will be the Bowden cable has snapped in the backrest. Replacement cables are available, but are quite fiddly to install. The backrest cover and upholstery has to be partially undone to gain access.

Thanks for that ... the drivers seat does not look or feel saggy, it looks fine and feels good for a short time then starts becoming uncomfortable, the car has done 50,000 miles so i was expecting it to be very good.
So i need to get that cable replaced for Lumbar adjustment... i wonder if the previous owner was a touch overweight ? ha,ha.

Does anyone have a contact for someone willing and able to refurbish the interior of an S40 cloth seat ... ideally in Devon area ? Thanks
