Nah, once you got the wax coat on, it’s easy to maintain

Late to the party,

- Bucket of hot water an normal car shampoo (sponge for body and brushes for wheels)
- Wash car down with a hose and let dry
- One coat of wax (I use this wax for black cars and a spray detailer to remove it)
- then windscreen outside I use xrain thing to repel water from the outside
- and a similar thing for the inside to stop fogging up

Clean up

Before winter I do a full Clay Bar and Meguires 3-step polish and wax, then again after the winter.

Regular washing will be:

Snow Foam and rinse
2-bucket wash with a Lambswool Mitt using a 'wax free' shampoo.
Rinse and then dry off with a Microfibre Towel.

Paintwork always looks very shiny and highly reflective.

One thing I stick to is washing each panel in turn and washing in straight lines, if you pick up some dirt or sand you could swirl it all down one side of the car. Also not applying too much pressure on the Mitt and not to dry with any pressure on the cloth.

I used RainX many years ago, but found it lasted a few days and could cause the outside to mist over in certain weather conditions. I gave up on it.

A while back I was given some and decided to have a go on the back passenger windows of my 940, so if it was as useless as before, it would not matter.

I presume the formula has been changed, as I find it far longer lasting and no misting problems. I now use it on all the windows and the door mirrors.
