High (circa 1500 rpm) idle, D5
Anyone had a problem with car idling at 1500 rpm, and car not letting use cruise control?
I have had the car serviced and they spotted a crack in the turbo inlet pipe (getting it replaced Friday) could this be the problem, it was ok before service? Have read elswhere in forum it may be a fuse or acc pedal issue any advice? Thanks |

If it came back from the service like that I'd be asking questions - especially if they uploaded any software updates.

I had exactly the same symptoms at the weekend (2006 v50 D5), where the idle would shoot up to 1500rpm.
After a bit if googling, I changed the fuse in the engine bay compartment that related to the accelerator pedal position. Sorry, can remember which one, but it was labelled on the underside of the compartment lid (think it was 10amps). The original fuse was fine, but quite tarnished. Before I changed it, the idle would shoot up to 1500. If this happened while pootling around town, the car would accelerate itself up to 1500rpm (geartronic) as if the Cruise was on. After the fuse was replaced with a nice shiney new one, the problem disappeared. Worth a shot. I didn't check error codes so can't confirm if that was the same. Worth a shot. I know mine is weeping very slightly so might have to think about getting it replaced before long.
