Default Unknown Electrical Device

Found this little friend poking out from under the driver's seat... any ideas what it could be and if I should be worried?

Not the best of pictures Garth, all I can see is masking tape. Possibly an add on that’s been removed!

Nothing is apparently broken, so tempted to tape it to the bottom of the driver's seat and forget about it.

I just hope it's not the auxiliary passenger ejector seat button.

you are not far wrong that's very dangerous it is an ignitor an explosive device for one of the air bags . Get the car to the dealer ASAP . Don't have an accident on the way .
If that goes off the car will be filled with a vast quantity of gas .

Oh 'eck! Think I'll get it towed.

Is the SIPS bag under the driver then? That cable is mighty short to get it up the side of the seat.

That was a chilling find, hope it all goes back together, at least we’ll all know for when or ever it comes up again.

The plot thickens... it does not belong to the airbag: that's all wired up correctly and has no missing connections
In addition, there is an identical component on the passenger seat fastened up just inside the plastic housing.

Back to square one, let’s go with your first guess. Ejector seat 😁
