Even after changing the cork gasket under the rocker box cover there was still a very slight weep to the back of the block - I could have lived with it I suppose, but it was just enough to be annoying. I took 142 Guy's advice and used a little Hylomar blue and that has cured the problem completely.

The addition of a new distributor cap and a nice shiny set of plug leads completes my work on the ignition system:



GAM now starts very easily from cold, aided I am sure by fixing the little leak in the front fuel jet pipe.

Thank you Dave, I'm really enjoying the GAM project.

I just had to pop out for some groceries and took the RB, which I have to say is also looking good, so much so that I came back the long way via Pipewell and East Carlton along some lovely windy backroads. The RB remains such a nice motor car to drive, sometimes I forget it is a 42 year old!
