Camshaft end play
Hi,
I was trying to measure my camshaft end play but it was zero. I was trying to follow the Bentley manual, but it didn't make much sense. It says to only leave the rear bearing cap in, which looking at he camshaft removal procecure in the same book, can actually damage it? It also says to push the camshaft forward before measuring, but it is impossible to move. Haynes says to leave all bearing caps in and puch it forward. I'm beginning to think they mean to remove all cam followers before doing this? But that's not what they describe. So what is the procedure? Thanks.

It is not something you want to measure or should measure.
Crank shaft yes , cam no |
