Default Steering judder when cold - 2005 V70

Getting steering judder when car started and when turning out of parking place. It goes when car has warmed up. Not sure why this would be but I guess I can try changing the power steering fluid as a first idea. I suppose the rack may be an issue.

Car is a 2005 V70 2.5T. 109,000 miles.

Is this the right fluid:

Yes.
Check the cold level on a stone cold engine and check the colour and clarity of the fluid.
You should see a clean and clear green drip on the PAS fluid dipstick.

I currently have the same issue with the car that I'm replacing with my Volvo, I've been advised to try Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak and Fluid Booster.

On the back of the bottle it says that it will eliminate tight spots, whining etc, and comes with a money back guarantee, so might be worth a try first?

I have a wee leak from an o-ring on my rack, i have so far, used 4 bottles of said Lucas fluid, each time the leak appears to slow, Lucas also said that its ok to use on my system, i asked them prior to using it.

Use CHF 11 or 201 green fluid but also make sure all clamps at the p/s reservoir are tight and don't take air in, same near the pump. Worn wishbone steering stops will also cause steering 'shake' at full turn, grease the stops a little for a check

OP.
Hi.
Another simple check to make is the bearing inside the lower (floor) gaitor. It is prone to moisture and muck blowing in from the underside of the car. Whilst you have the gaitor off also check and lube the lower steering U/J . The joint just above the rack and (outside) below the floor gaitor also suffers the same.
When the car is parked up they dry out and can squeak / judder on initial pull-away.
