Estate Power Aerial + CD Changer
Hi all, Does anyone know whether my car (a '96 945 estate) will have the prewired cable for a power aerial? The car has the inbuilt aerial in the nearside cargospace window. I only ask as I'm about to fit a Volvo CD changer, and it comes with connectors to allow you to fit it to/between the aerial feed, and it would be good to know before I try and remove the interior panelling. If the aerial feed is missing, I will look to earth the changer to the rear light unit, but what is a suitable alternative power feed (I was thinking the cargo area light feed)? Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks Matt

RE: Estate Power Aerial + CD Changer
Your car should not have a power aerial feed but will have a feed connector for a CD changer. At the rear IIRC left wing panel should be a pair of wires on a connector which should be pin 1 Green/Red and pin 2 Black. These wires should mate with the CD player on pins 30 & 31 respectively. You may need to supply a DIN to DIN connector between the player and the Radio Head Unit. The Radio Head Unit should be integral with the amplifier on this model. The Black wire comes from pin A14 on the Radio Head unit and is earthed at one of the rear compartment earth points. The Green/Red wire is routed from fuse 26 to both the CD player and pin A12 on the Radio Head Unit. The aerial amplifier is fed with a four pin connector with two wires (Black and Red) the Red wire is fed by a Green/Red wireforward through the big a-pillar connector to pin A3 on the Radio Head Unit All the best, Peter. |
