Peter thats most probably an injector or the EGR, fuel filter probs are usually up the rev range

Urban myth, most supermarket fuel is supplied by Greenergy fuels uk ~ tried all the supermarket fuels & not one iota of difference between them & the big names even when running Rica Sportune. When people pay more they seem to convince themselves they're getting more...

Well lets hope it's all OK magically now anyway
I'd rather not be going down the EGR or injector route. |

shouldnt worry about the injectors or the EGR, let it develop as they say

Hi, my misfire/judder occurs from 800-1200 rpm, worse when cold, but there all the time. Concides with 30 mph in 4th which is a b.nuisance. Once above 1200 it's completely smooth. I suspect also that the mpg has dropped a bit but I've not checked it for a while. Weird.

Hi hobby, injectors were presumably checked when the diagnostic was done, but others have questioned whether the check was actually done thoroughly enough. Certainly my probs are all in the lower rev range, and the new filter hasn't had any effect. What would the EGR (Exhaust gas regulator?) do to affect it??

duration , which is quite an involved procedure that needs specialist equipment & requires the renewal of the injector fixings. The EGR only works at low revs & if faulty can cause spluttering due to incorrect fuelling & induction temperatures - I would have the injectors properly checked first

Out of interest and in case anyone is still paying attention, the fuel filter arrived today and i've just fitted it.
I did notice this morning that it took 1 turn of the engine more than usual to start, out of the 5-6 times i've started it today it's sometimes the normal turns/noises, but 2 have been 1 more. Not driven the car since fuel filter replacement but have started it up a few times after a bit of persuasion of having no diesel etc |

I used to have the problem you describe, started to look at the intercooler and think about changing it (original on 04 120K S60). The trait used to happen in 4/5 gear going through 1800-2000 rpm. Sort of lived with it a bit (couple of mths) as it was only a very minor thing (could not get it to do it all the time), now it does not do it all - the car has self healed! weird!
