Need exact engine number
Hi
I am in the process of having the Cylinder Head Gasket replaced on my Volvo 240GL 1990.I live in the Harrow Middlesex Area post code HA3 8RG,I have an experienced Mechanic who is prepared to take on the Job and do a decent job of it.However he is concerned that having taken the Cylinder Head "A part" he may find the damage too extensive and may require a reconditioned Cylinder Head.I have tried obtaining a replacement using the Vin number but i am asked for the Engine number. Can anyone advise me where i could find this information? Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated. Ben |

Alan PS. Changing a head gasket is pretty simple, you could do it yourself without any special tools or skills: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showp...postcount=1054 Last edited by Othen; Nov 4th, 2020 at 09:07. Reason: Addition. |

All you need to know is if the engine is a K, E or F engine.
The only think that will cause you to need a exchange head is bad corroision in teh water jakets. Make sure the head is surfaced. |
