Thanks

Were genuine Volvo disks fitted?

I can only go on my experience but I've found the aftermarket ones warp quite quickly, and I don't do heavy braking. My rule is if you need to brake to get round a corner you've used too much fuel getting there.

I fitted Delphi discs to my V70 and suffered no problems. The new discs on my S60 are also delphi. I think that quality pattern parts should cause no problems.

I use Mintex discs and pads and they are fine

Agree with Chris' theory re corners, though.. unless you're pressing on.

The shuddering started with the original Volvo discs at 54,000 at which point I had them changed and now it is the 3rd set of discs all with the same symptoms ,so I am tending to think it isnt just the discs but something else causing this recurring problem. I wouldnt have thought that two sets after market discs would warp so quickly under normal driving ....Steve

The discs could be checked with a dial test indicator for warping.

Well that was my experience with aftermarket disks from the club's supplier.

As has been said a dial guage test will prove it, but if the disks are warped you will be able to feel it as you come to a slow halt.
