Quick update on this: my local dealer is adamant that this feature can't be retrofitted to pre-2020 models. Marshall in Milton Keynes disagree and have booked the car in on a "no-win-no-fee" basis next week to take the car from Pilot Assist 2 to version 3, saying that their service computer lists it as an available update and that they've done it before.

Having said all that even the accessory description on Volvo's own website says it won't work, so curious to see the outcome.

Will report back.

Where did you find details on the website?

I have the same MY as you and would be interested to know your results. I also use Marshalls.

I emailed Marshalls with my reg number and VIN and asked if it was possible. They replied with a scan of the aftermarket upgrade information sheet, and when I pushed them to confirm that it specifically added CSA (with a link to the page in the 2020 model year manual), they replied that it did.

Assuming this works is there a cost associated with the upgrade?

Does it only add curve speed adaption or are there other changes as well?

Pilot Assist 2 to 3.0 according to the promotional blurb. Cost is £300, worth it in my opinion since I do 90% of my driving with either Pilot Assist or Adaptive Cruise control enabled and I’d like it to be able to tackle windy A-roads and tight motorway junctions better.

Thanks. Interested to hear how it goes!

Is this upgrade definitely not available on earlier model years? Sounds like a useful improvement but my car is 17MY

Definitely V60 only, if it works at all. The paperwork says that it can only be installed on a car which had Intellisafe Assist as a dealer-installed option but Marshall say that's a red herring.
