Xc60 boot struts
Hi, I have a 2011 XC60 2.4 D5 with electric assist boot struts. The drivers side strut had failed and to replace I"ve been quote £450 each or £750 for both (they recommend replacing as a pair). He mentioned that once fitted they need software / coding up????? Is this true as they are easy to fit myself at £170 each??
The other question is will normal gas struts at £70 a pair fit onto the "ball" mounts?? Somebody out there must have converted from electric struts to normal gas struts. Please help. Thanks Smudge |

Two replacement gas struts €38.16 😀
After much internet research I found a company called SGS Engineering. They supplied me two gas struts with 10mm ball cups on both ends (all other aftermarket gas struts come with 13mm ball cups but my XC60 had 10mm for some reason) for £38.16 delivered. I fitted in 10 mins and they work a treat. Happy Days 😀

Same as SmudgeSmiff
I replaced the gas struts on my 1992 940 with struts from the same supplier but mine were never electric.
But does that not mean that you no longer have the press button option to open and close?
