Default Grill Update

Hi Guys

I have always fancied doing a grill update, but the high price of the parts for no *real* benefit have put me off.

I did however, find some time to disect the standard "egg box" and hit it with some paint.

I used some BMW titanium silver I had from another job - looks fine against the body colour - not too bling.

If you are interested, the grill removes from the body with just simple plastic clips. Once off, you can unclip the chrome surround and badge bar.

I power washed the "egg box", cleaned it with alcohol, ensuring all crap was removed from every corner, then hit it with some plastic primer, base coat and laquer.

No before pictures... just afters... looks fine I think... for zero real cost.

Hope its of interest to someone!

David

Good effort, really tidy & as you say, not too bling.

I wanted the latest big badge grille, but didn't fancy the cost & ended up actually ageing my car by fitted the oldest style grille.

This upgrade might just do the job...thanks

P.s & it sounds like I might not be the only one !

As the "badge bar" unclips from the grill (quite tight) I did wonder if the newer badge bar was available as a part... that would be a very cheap upgrade!

Even if its not a perfect fit, it may be easy to fix it....
