740 auto
Hi
during the week my 740 brokedown. The engine works but I now have no drive in any gear. After being towed to where I am stay I looked under the bonnet to find transmission oil all over the front on the engine. It looks to have come out of the oil cooler that is in the rad as the fan is covered and has spread it all over. The question is can I just change the rad and refill both the water and oil or is the gearbox gone as well. Any advice would be welcome. Andy |

RE: 740 auto
you could be lucky. there is good chance - sort the leak , go to your local motor factors buy 5ltr ATF (cheaper than halfords). top up and give it a try. if not source a second hand box.

RE: 740 auto
Hi, flush the gearbox with ATF twice before you try to drive it.
Only do about 3 or 4 miles then change it again. You may be lucky enough to save your gearbox. If this is unsuccesful and your gearbox is finished then i will prob have one for about £125.00 plus vat and delivery. business contact. 01942 322880 regards. Keith |
