I'm going to replace the Pressure Sensor with a potentiometer too, just to see if the DPF regens all the time anyways or not.

BUT, how do I know which connector is the +5V, earth and signal? How do I measure this?

Secondly, rather than drilling the DPF would be ok just to get a straight through piece made up?

Is the idea with this that it is then set back to standard for an MOT???

Or does this just gain you an extra year?

Ah forget that read now that doesn't affect mot.

Also here is a link for having dpf removed and remap for £420

£420 Is a bit steeper that the £2 mentioned earlier in the post. Rica Do a Remap for £360 giving an extra 42hp and 60Nm Torque. add that to the £2 Sensor and it still £60 cheaper and I'm not sure Rica are the cheapest either.

yes but in fairness its not just £2 its removing the DPF drilling it, cutting wires etc etc

if a remap is £360ish then the DPF removal for around £60 seems pretty fair doesnt it?

£60 is fair, however, you have to be little careful with some of these companies as they simply just remove the DPF from the ECU rather than actually removing the filter and/or replacing it with a staight through pipe. You also need to find out what they do with the additive tank as the dosing cycle needs to be stopped.

Good info,, however the obvious missing thing from the £2 guide then is what do they do with the additive system?

If the potentiometer trick means the Volvo believes the DPF is fine then surely the remap making it think the DPF is fine achieves the same thing? the additive system just never gets a signal to activate it?

the dossing cycle could continue with a simple additive like injector cleaner just a thought???

as to date no problems have had a couple of codes appear only on connecting fault software via laptop P2002 & P1412

they don't appear on car OR EFFECT performance they only appear when revs have exceeded 3200 rpm ONLY on pro scan software, other diagnostic software programmes pick up NO FAULTS. strange one
