Default XC90 Tailgate

Has anyone got any tips how to open the tailgate on the XC90 with your foot. Not yet mastered it, tends to open 1 in 3 attempts.

Do not wave your foot side to side use a slow foot in and out in line with the reverse sensor to left of centre, make sure you have key fob in your pocket and not in same pocket as your phone as the phone can mask the fob.

You will find a video here. https://support.volvocars.com/uk/car...=2017&sw=16w46

Mines pretty good, just pretend your kicking a football under the left middle parking sensor, keep your foot just below the bumper, works ok for me.

Works very reliably for me on my car but you do have to do it properly as nu11eaf stated above.

If you do it correctly as per the guide, it works. Wave your foot around randomly under the bumper like most of the XC90 car reviewers you see on YouTube that say it doesn't work, then yes, it wont work well!

Don't forget you can lower it as well as raise it using this method.

....and while on the subject, it is implemented in a sensible manor if you think about it because if it went up and down by simply randomly waiving your foot below the bumper (as per the reviewer technique!) then it may activate all the time when you didn't want it to. It might activate every time you moved your feet past the back of the car or shuffled your feet about whilst loading/unloading at the back.

I find mine works best if I take a definite step back as I pull my foot back. Not sure if the sensors detect you standing so close to get a face full of tailgate.
