Has any one found a UK supplier of these. They are not metric but Imperial 1/4 diameter. Volvo say 2 to 3 weeks to get them from Sweded. Are not these calipers made in the UK. Regards Peter

Assuming they are the same as others used here (which I'm not sure of, but you seem sure they're quarter inch) - then you should be able to find a hydraulic specialist somewhere near you. There are a surprising number around, and they have large ranges of everything hydraulic.

They range from specialist 'Lockheed' agents, to the type of place which can supply service parts for anything from a JCB to a jumbo jet.

Here's one example: http://www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk/index.html

Automec http://www.automec.co.uk/frame_set.html list:

Bleed screw 1/4 x 28unf

I don't know if that will fit or not.

Most motor factors will have a box of assorted brake hydraulic fittings.

I can confirm that the Blled nipples are 28 tpi 1/4 UNF, However Girling make them secifically for Volvo with 8mm heads on them put the replacement I received are 1/4 quite small. The trick with getting the old ones out which hardly had any flats on the hex due to corrosion is to use the shank of a drill and tap right into the bleed nipple ( after 2 days of soaking in plus gas ) and grab hold of it with a good set of mole grips. The drill shank stops you from crushing the nipple. All 6 came out. ( Fronts ) Regards Peter
