A good one for you ... (central door lock)
Hi fellow volvo owners.
On my '90 740 I just bought, the central door lock system doesnt work. I also noticed that the hazaard lights dont work too. So I checked the fuses, and I noticed both were on the same fuse, I thought I found the culprit... but no! The fuse is fine! I replaced it anyway.. but nothing! Both are still defective. I havent checked the central locking relay yet. What do you think ? |

RE: A good one for you ... (central door lock)
Check for power at the fuse and for a dirty connection here, as sometimes a phosphur build up will cause a bad connection at the fuse and not send power through. If all is well here and power is there then check the output of the other wire at the fusebox to see if power is coming out of fusebox, with fuse in place, to relavent parts, and then check for power at relavent parts. If power is coming out from fusebox but not getting to hazards or central locking, then the wire may have a break in it. Also worth checking to see if there is a relay on the circuit, if there is then the relay may be faulty (this is only a thought as you have 2 circuits that are being supplied by 1 fuse).

Ok finally!
I solved the problem. I removed the whole door panel, no problem here. Switch is fine. But no power. I followed the wiring harness, just under dash (driver side).... and both wires were cut, by the clowns who installed the remote starter device. :S I plugged them back, everything is fine. |
