Can't argue with either your logic or decision, 'CTA'. Purely out of interest, we paid £2750 for our '06' Saab 'vert last November, so would have been more than happy to meet your very reasonable asking price.

Regards. John.

Hi John,

Thanks for the kind words.

The bottom line is that a car is worth what a person is willing to pay for it! When I bought this one, I paid a 'bit over the odds' - but it was what is was worth to me.

And I didn't regret it.

Chris

I was grateful for the posts here in the forum and by email; it showed that the car was ‘of interest’ to people and admired by many.

It was rather reassuring!.................under the circumstances, I will withdraw the car from sale. But, I will not forget the interest shown by many and the admiring comments. They did actually mean a lot to me. Thank you to all who joined in the 'conversation'.

What a difficult decision to make, but I truly believe it is the right one.
Cars like yours are few and far between and very difficult to replace. Those known quantity, reliability, already spent on repairs, genuine MOT factors have much to be said in favour of keeping the car

However, if you do change your mind....I'm begging to be first in the pm queue....but I rather suspect others may have already bagged the first place.

Thanks for so many kind words. Your first bit sums up my situation. I've spent time and money during the ownership (seemed a lot at the time - but realised that it was investment!). And I 'know' the car. And I would have missed it.

If (a quite doubtful one, I'm afraid) I decide to sell again, I'll let you know first.

It's those silent demands it makes of me. Things like: "wash me"; "polish me" etc. and "put some of that expensive petrol out of a green nozzle as I'm getting thirsty!" The list is endless - as any Volvo nut can confirm!

But we do love our cars?
