Default Reconditioned gearboxes

Anyone know of a good company that reconditions gearboxes? Particularly these pesky ford 6 speed boxes in the V50’s?
I have a 2008 V50 2.0 diesel and the gearbox and diff are in a bad way. Trying to find a reconditioned box, but can only find second hand ones on eBay etc

Try Herts+Beds Trans, behind Baldock services.

well worth getting second hand , gearbox internal repairs can be so expensive these days .

Not sure if Lakes Volvo dismantles are still going but it might be worth giving them a shout. They’ve had V50’s in for breaking

Thanks for the replies!
I’m expecting to pay around the £1000-1500 mark for a recon on my diff and gearbox.
Anything more than that I may consider gambling on a second hand box.
Recently had the flywheel and clutch done, so at least with a recon I know it’ll all be new down there!
