Black and round?
(Give us a clue - are you looking for summer, all-season, winter, grip, economy ??)

Main thing is, dont go below midrange.
For the small price difference vs huge performance/safety difference, budget vs midrange is stupid. Uniroyal, falken, firestone, kumho, fulda, semperit, Vredestein all good midrange options, hankook, nokian, michelin, Goodyear, dunlop, bridgestone, conti, Pirelli all great premium options. Decent all seasons. Don't want cheap / poor makes. Just a decent all rounder

Michelin CrossClimates are hard to beat for year-round use. Not cheap though.

Have Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season on my XC70 currently. I don't think they're anywhere near as good as the Vredestein Quatrac 5's on my dads XC70 or the Cooper Weathermaster's on my XC90.

+1 for Camskill - just had a look and substantially (circa 8-10%) cheaper than Oponeo for my next boots...

Crossclimate+ on both our V70 and Nissan Leaf - very quiet, superb in the wet and cold.
