Goodwood Moving Motor Show - 11th July
Hello all,
Anyone else going to this? I'll be making the long (260mile) drive down for my first time at Goodwood. And it'll be the first real journey made in the S60 since ownership so it'll be nice to see if I can see and increase from 23mpg I'm currently getting! Hoping it going to be a decent day out. Wouldn't normally travel that far to look at cars but I have won a ride up the hill in the S60 Polestar so needless to say it was too much of an oppertunity to miss! Would be nice to see a few folk off here.

I had tickets to the Moving Motor show 2 years ago - its a great day out.
My only advice is get there EARLY - aim as early as you can! We were there ~7 I think. The big marques like Ford have hospitality, and exhibits will will get busy during the day - get in and have a look. We had hospitality in the Ford stand with a couple of cups of tea and they opened one of their "on display, please don't touch" rally cars up for us to have a good look inside. We had a good chat with them which they seemed to enjoy - an actual chat rather than lots of questions being thrown at them from lots of people ... ! The V10 Audis (if they are there again) change gear just before the bridge, so you get a nice *pop pop* as they race up the hill. Most of all, take your camera, take spare batteries and SD cards, and get LOTS of photos to post on here! Enjoy! Enjoy it and take good walking shoes. You will walk miles! Been to the Festival of Speed a few times now and the Moving Motor Show and its very good.
Some food is a tad expensive, drinks also but the displays and atmosphere are great. Weather will be good so enjoy it. |

Well, what a fantastic day out that was! Didn't even manage to see it all. Well worth the long trip. Was impressed with the fuel consumption too. Managed to squeeze out 540 miles out of the tank and return 37.1mpg.
Can see what you mean by get there early. We got stuck on the A3 for 3 hours due to a a lorry fire ans accident closing it. Wasn't to impressed! As for the Polestar, jesus christ!!! That thing has got some poke!
