Default D24 injectors £18 ECP?!?!?!

Just noticed by sticking in 'Volvo 760' Or using my Reg F407JTA on their site, that a Bosch fuel injector is ~£18. 'Service' Discount brings it down to £15.

Knowing I can return if its not what it says, I've ordered 1 of. If its too good to be true, and a lump of iron turns up, I will be happy, I am expecting an assembly to turn up, Maybe at worse, a nozzle kit.

Will report back when DHELL delivers...

A complete injector cost far more than 15 quid, so perhaps it's just the fitting kit or nozzle.
You need special tools to fit most injector tips correctly and it would be worth figuring out who can fit them that is willing to offer a warranty for parts they did not supply. Most injection system shops will not do that, as cheap tips corrode out fairly quickly.

The photo shows something with an electrical connection at the top - so definitely nothing to do with the d24 in any variant, unfortunately.

Why do you think your injectors need to be reconditioned ??

About half of all injectors sent to the injection service centers are within limits once they have been cleaned. Most of the others have blown tips from the use of poor quality fuel filters.

A UOA result will always show up a faulty injection system from the drop in the oils flashpoint and the associated fuel contamination figure. If it's more than 2%, then it's worth trying a can of a direct feed injection cleaner.
I use Liqui Moly Diesel Purge to fill up the fuel filter housing every time the element is changed.

1,2,4 sound fine (clicking), 3 5 and 6 are clanging, I have smoke under load, smoke on idle, and the engine knocks like a bitch at about 3000rpm. And given the age? 190k, I think its time I treated it to a new set and get the engine running a bit better than it is.
Pulling the injectors apart, the shims are slightly screwed.

They're IDI injectors, They don't last forever. I would like this D24 to put out a bit more power than smoking everyone...

Perkins used to supply genuine re-con injectors for £12 a pop for the old tractor and JCB engines to keep non-genuine off the market.
like already stated most just need a clean and a lap in and they are as good as new provided they have good quality nozzles.
