Default Handbrake (Yeah I know)

Hey all,

2004 XC90 D5, randomly today gone to use the handbrake and the release pull button is just loose and not really doing anything?

The foot pedal isn't ratcheting down either?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Rob

Linkage has come adrift under the front armrest or maybe even broken somewhere between the ratchet adjuster in the passenger footwell and the rear disks ... if it was working before, then check under the front armrest/cubbie first.

Hope its something simple

Use it or lose it.
I know it is not the best but it will work properly if it is used regularly.
