Default 2012 V60 Alarm Fuse

I wonder if anyone can help me regarding the above. My alarm keeps going off & I would like to temporarily disable the alarm whilst keeping the car locked in my garage. Can anyone tell me where the fuse for the alarm is & whether removing it would have the desired affect?

Try using the reduce guard function before leaving the car .. if that cures it you need a new sensor unit in the centre of the ceiling ...

There is no "alarm" as such its functions are shared by various modules around the car..

Thank you for your prompt reply Clan, it is much appreciated. I tried the Reduced Guard function and that made no difference. Incidentally it is just the hazard lights that flash and run the battery down, the alarm does not sound!

In that case its most likely not the "alarm" ..... does it happen every time you leave the car? Volvo diagnostics can read out the alarm causes .... to rule that out ..

It could still be the alarm, the V60 alarm siren failing is a common fault, though you normally get a message saying alarm service required which is Volvo speak for "the alarm is broken".

There may be a few reported here , but out in the real world the alarm control module failing on this range of volvos is certainly not a common issue .. I've changed one in the 14 years they have been around ... and that was in the first couple of years after they were launched ..

I know there is always a risk of forums making cars look bad as of course no one ever posts a message saying "another day with no issues :-)". In this case however two V60 modules in the last year for me one car from 2015 and one from 2014.

That's very unlucky , I wonder if they have had a new batch remade and the quality has gone ? ( like the 240/940 Water pump )

I had the "alarm service needed" message at the weekend which was fortunate as I was heading into the dealer for the seatbelt recall. They've diagnosed a faulty internal mass movement sensor
