Default Cambelt

Replacement has been quoted at the same price by a) Main Dealer and b) Independent Volvo specialist. The skill levels are comparable.

What, if any, are the advantages please of having this work done at either?
...appreciate any impartial advice and/or experience to help me decide.

Would they both be fitting genuine Volvo/OEM parts?

I'd have it done at the dealer, purely as I feel you'd have more comeback against them should something subsequently go wrong (e.g. a complaint to Volvo UK). And if something did go wrong after a cambelt change then the consequences could be hugely expensive!

there is only one " specialist" and that is the dealer .. they have more experience and back up and information than anybody else ...and use the best parts available ...

My dealer gives discount on parts, service parts best discount. Last job I had done got the quote, phoned parts with job ref, they applied parts discount and saved a few quid on the job.
Worth asking.
