Thumbs up What's best for refitting / sealing rear light cluster (480)

Am looking to make a repair to an edge of a rear cluster and am looking for some advice on

- how to remove without breaking!
- what to refit it with (butyl tape or something else)
- anything else to stop leaks once refitted?

Thanks !

Wanna buy one, Andy? I have a selection of two!

As he says, 480 europe is your best bet on this.

Never tried myself, but I'm not looking forward to removing them to restore mine.

Yes, Scandix are making replacements, at around £150 per side.

Here they are, but they don't come with a seal, helpfully!

Removal would rather depend on how they've been fitted. If they've never been out before, then just VERY careful wiggling should do the trick once they're unfastened.

If they've been refitted before though, there's a very good chance they've been stuck back in with silicone or similar as the seals disappeared from parts lists years ago

Someone over on 480 europe started making seals for them a couple of years ago, not sure what happened with it though.

Good luck!

Steve

The back light seals are available at one of the members of the Volvo 480 Register in the Netherlands.
Try club europe site to find him.
If you want theme I could contact him for you.

With the seals its much easyer to remove theme and place back.
