Default Happy Birthday to R285***

Yes, she has finally come of age.

21 years ago today (December 1st 1997) my 945 LPT SE, R285*** first rolled out of a Volvo showroom in Germany. What great drives these
old 940s still are.

Still going strong at a mere 125k miles and passed its MoT last week. Still very solid underneath and no body rust.

The only advisory being a rusted out rear support band for the rear silencer box. Unfortunately I made such a hash of fitting the replacement that I ended up with a small hole in the back box so interested to see the thread on here about exhaust systems. My next job!

So, happy Volvoing and please raise a glass tonight.

Mine came from Germany too! I got the original warranty certificate and it says delivery date 18/6/97. Then presumably imported and registered here 31/12/97.

Yes, got mine to from Volvo Deutschland delivered to BFPO 17. Mine was delivered to a service man and I think they avoided tax if they kept it overseas for 12 months.

Are you really in North Korea - how do you get parts?

Cheers,
