Heater matrix?
Im pretty certain i already know the answer to this...
Noticed coolant had been gulped. Quite a bit. Sodden drivers carpet. Took it out and everything was swimming. Looking at the water marks coming from the matrix. 1992 turbodiesel |

Good question Jim! I know from personal experience that both make the carpet wet in the driver's footwell. But if all the other footwells are wet as well then it's the matrix.

Agreed it is - took me ~5-6 hours over an entire weekend to strip out, replace and put back much of the dash and many weeks after trying to wash and dry everything out thereafter!

Palmer, what year is your Volvo?
Later they got the heater valve in the engine bay. A big improvement. You did use the wrong coolant, I will see orange stuff. Prone to destroy the coolant system, including water pump. A big nono Good luck, changing the matrix is a real pita and the invoice will be at a workshop more as the value of the car Kay |
