Default V40 1998 key fob not working

Hi our key fob has stopped working. I changed batteries but no change. It will lock the central locking manually but not the driver's side door. The little flashing red light above the rear view mirror has stopped flashing so I am guessing this might have something to do with it but does the inability to lock the drivers door signify another problem?

I am going to check fuses now but I dont have a fuse diagram does anyone have one please?
Thank you
M

If one door is locking then there is nothing wrong with the keyfob

Try locking and unlocking the doors with the lock switch inside the car

If a door is not locking then it is normally the lock itself or the wiring in the door hinge area.

The alarm will not set unless all doors are locked.

It might be that the circuit board in the fob has a crack across it and so it's not always making a connection.

That happened to one of the fobs for our current car so we stopped using it.

Perhaps at some stage I'll try to fix it, but locking via the key is perfectly ok for us for now.
