Question V60 D2 2014 P1264 'Cylinder 4 high to low side short'

Hi Guys, newbie here.

My car just went into limp mode whilst navigating a roundabout. This has happened a couple of years before, and stopping the engine and restarting cleared it. Garage could find no issue. This time that didn't work, and I crawled home. Putting the OBD reader on it I got "P1264 Cylinder 4 high to low side short." Before I call in the professionals, any suggestions as to what this may be would be appreciated.

Faulty injector or injector wiring.

Took a look under the bonnet, and no way was I going to be able to find the injectors - car engines have become much more inscrutable since electronic ignition. So, the garage have confirmed a failing injector. £570 to replace it... hey ho it's only money.

Where the engine oil filler cap is, roughly 4 or 5 inches back from that towards the windscreen is where the injectors are. They're tucked out of sight.

Your car has a PSA engine developed by Peugeot and Citroen. Its used in lots of vehicles. Its not a Volvo engine though.

Unfortunately, injectors aren't cheap. Although £570 sounds like a complete rip off to me. I think they're taking the **** with that price. They must be putting a new one in. Why don't they get a good used/refurbished one and fit that... It'd save you a lot of money.

227 to change an injector sounds a lot but then again, maybe need to remove a lot of stuff (i doubt it)

i removed couple injectors from my 159 to replace the copper seal and even without the specific extractor never took me more than 1 hour and that included cleaning the injector, lapping the injector seat, etc

Its not a big job to change injectors on the PSA engines. I think that price is steep too, but I suppose its fixed now and back on the road.

Corollary to the thread: Now the injector has been replaced, I've notice the engine feels a lot smoother. There was a slight flat spot on acceleration that, curiously I'm only really noticing now it's not there. Was like that for a long time, but the OBD hadn't picked it up. So the warning was there...
