Default Horn not working (To add the list of similar posts)

Hi folks
First post here and not had a Volvo since my trusty old 740, years ago. OK, just got a 2010 XC60 D5 AWD from a family member, all in great nick except the horn doesn't work (Which he had informed me of in advance). I've been searching the forum for info and looking to do the easy checks first before the spanners come out.
I've checked the fuse, OK there, in fact I changed it regardless just in case. Next thing I'd like to check is the relay..... Err where is it? The fuseboxes and diagrams in the owner manual and on the fusebox lids only show fuse locations/uses and not relays. I've trawled around on the tinterweb and found a wiring diagram that says relay R2 is for the horn, but the only R2 relay I can find is in the boot. I would have thought the relay would be one of those in the main engine compartment fusebox where the fuse lives, but I can't find any details to confirm.
If I can find that and, hopefully, hear a click that might indicate it works, next option would be to get the top of the cowling off the steering column and check the connections there. Is there a Volvo owners knack to that?
Cheers

Could i suggest you start at the horn with your testing? A simple test light will confirm if you are getting power at the plug. It may just be a case of a broken horn or coroded plug, broken wire etc. if you have power you know everything else is good in a quick easy test. Just a thought 😊

Thanks Graham. That makes sense, now where did I put my multi-meter?
I'd still like to know where the relay lives, just in case.

If you find it I would like to know - I have the same problem no horn and I believe no heated mirrors, I have looked through all the fuses and can not see any damaged but do not know which is the correct one.
I am not keen to remove the front just to test power before testing other avenue's first!

When I had problems found it to be a simple loose connection of the earth in steering wheel as the horn is live while there is a battery connected and works when being earthed.

Ok - fixed today, I removed the front bumper and removed each horn to test, seems the clip that goes into the horn was bent and the contacts were not connecting (same for both) , re-clipped the part back together and clipped in the cable - all working well / no cost!
