Knocking from front suspension
Generally car's been brilliant though have had some knocking which I think is coming from the front suspension.
Car's a 2016 D5 AWD SE Lux Manual now with 80k on the clock. - Initially I replaced all 4 shocks with Koni special actives... improved ride immensely including new aftermarket top mounts. Noise still there! - Had it checked out, everything super tight - Took it to the main Dealer, they replaced the top mounts & bearing with OEM parts concluding it was the winter wheel set as noise still there - Changed the drop links, noise still there - Now back on summers... noise is still there - Have just bought new Meyle HD control arms Anything else anyone could suggest if this doesn't work? |

Troubkeshooting
I was going down the road and lost acceleration. After costing to a safe spot the engine shut off and now I have a P0805 trouble code for a clutch position sensor. I have an automatic transmission and can't seem to find where this sensor is

XC60 Issues List (faults and user problems)H
Just discovered the lower edge of the fabric cover on the tailgate door is soaking wet on driver’s side.
So when the hatch door is closed water is finding it’s way past the rubber seal, and the fabric draws the water in to it. No rips in the seal, no damage to the door, grommets or rubber bungs, glass areas …. Nothing is obvious. |

XC60 Rear fog lights
I have had numerous faults with the rear fogs on my XC60 - my garage tells me it is because of water and mud from the rear wheels.
They are just about to replace both rear fog lights in their entirety - any suggestions to avoid these going offline in the future?? |

XC60 2014 EGR valve (Error code:P04D9)
Hi,
My Volvo has an EGR valve error and have been quoted £1800 to replace the cooler and valve. I have been looking into remapping the car and "deleting" the EGR valve at a cost of £300. However I have read mixed reviews on how that may negatively affect the DPF filter so I am after some information on whether it is a genuine option and if people have had it done? Many thanks, Will Last edited by wrightwilliam73; Mar 25th, 2024 at 12:01. Reason: spelling mistake |

2013 XC60 3.2 engine...ECM FAILURE...MAYBE...? HELP...!
I have a 2013 XC60 with a 3.2 engine that is driving me NUTS...! I have had it scanned and got no real useable info from that. I am wondering how common is it that a ECM ( engine control module ) fails or is about to fail and what are the symptoms of it...?
The car run rough as **** with many cylinders misfiring or not firing at all at times. Then I turn off the engine and turn it right back on and everything works great for a few minutes...like 2 to 10 minutes then it starts to run like **** again. It seems turning it off even for a few seconds seems to really help about 50% of the time. Could this be the ECM failing...and powering it down and back up resets something...? |

I drive a 2016 XC60 D4 AWD Summun, 195,000 kms. Have your garage check the routing of the wiring bundles in the engine compartment. I recently had an "engine service light", (not warning), come on and off as well as having issues with the cruise control during a longer trip, (700kms one way) from CH to CZ and back to CH. The problem was caused by chaffing of the wiring bundle in the engine compartment. 3 wires were intermittently being grounded out when warm / vibrations. Volvo calculates a very exact length of the wiring looms/bundles as any excess lengths cost money. This results in very tight paths for the wiring bundles and can cause issues with chaffing to routing of the wiring bundles. My garage was able to find and fix the problem in 2 hours. 1.5 hours troubleshooting, 30 minutes repair. As you say your problem is "intermittent" I suspect the routing of your wiring could be the problem. Good luck. - Marcus Last edited by Marcus Decurtins; Aug 2nd, 2024 at 00:05. |
