I'm after a RHD auto throttle cable if anyone has one laying around. Yours Dave

More chance of finding hens teeth...
Seriousy, I've been looking for one for ages, they are discontinued, according to PartsMonster, Skandix only list the LHD. See also: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...elerator+cable

You should find a few companies under classic car cables that will make one to your requirements:~ Many have been around for quite some time. Bob. |

I've removed the old one now and it all works fine except the collar that holds the kickdown spring in has snapped off, I don't think glue will be strong enough. Is the housing on the LHD cable same ? I could then take them to Venhill and get a new one made.
Yours Dave

J.B.Weld would be a likely product to hold that part:~
Roughen the surface to form a keyed area (the above doesn't like smooth surfaces too well) Leave in place for 24hours to fully harden. Bob. |

I had thought about gorilla glue but the broken bit compresses the large spring for the kick down so I'm not convinced any glue would be strong enough to hold that for long. I've messaged Rolling Thunder as he said he has a LHD cable, Venhill would lengthen it for me if that they are the same, finger crossed.

Right, solvent weld glue didn't work, the kickdown spring is too strong even when the plastic is melted back together.
I can confirm that a Volvo 9157601 LHD cable is exactly the same as the RHD one except the length, obviously. I took it to Venhill who weren't interested at all and said it wasn't possible to make it longer, so I wouldn't bother with them. In the end I took it to a small indy motorcycle shop and in less than 2 hours they had lengthened it for me. He reused the original cable as mine is in good condition, it shortens it by about 10mm but the adjuster was over 15mm out due to stretch over the years so that wasn't a problem. He couldn't confirm but he thinks the cable is known as Bowden Cable, if you need new cable. I hope this helps others.
