XC60 Towbar & Trailer Stability Assist
Just bought a new XC60 D5 AWD SE and a local specialist is fitting a detachable towbar for me with electrics. I asked Volvo fitters at the garage the car came from about the wiring, but mainly about TSA and they say if it is not fitted with the correct loom, it will screw the wiring up!
I trust the specialist as they are very reputable tow bar fitters but Volvo have upset the apple cart with the comments. Any one had a towbar on a XC60 fitted outside Volvo and had any or no issues? My first volvo by the way, and very impressed with it. Thanks in advance |

Just a wee important update to this post. I have had a few drama's with getting a towbar fitted, it seems that the electrical side of it can only done by Volvo on the XC60, this is due to the Trailer Stability Assist (TBA) being part of the city safe package!
Initially I thought the dealer was just being funny as it was an outside agency doing the fitting for £200 less then them, but they have offered to fit my towbar for the same price as the outside agency as they initially told me it was ok to do so. This means if anyone other than Volvo do the electrics at the moment it will void the warranty as any other method than the download apparently corrupts the software. Just a heads up about it, just in case anyone else has this situation. Cheers |
