Question XC90 Fuel Consumption

I'm looking at swapping my XC70 for an XC90. My annual mileage is low so I'm considering going for a T6 rather than paying extra for a diesel. Claimed combined fuel consumption is around 23mpg - is this what they return in real life?

18 mpg in the city and might JUST manage 30 mpg on a nice run , avoid the T6 it will cost you money it has a GM cadilac gearbox which can fail too .. go for the 2.5 petrol turbo if you can find one .. But before you do that try a 185 bhp D5 ... it will do all you want

from the other side of the pond.....t6's are a common failure here. in the beginning we only had a 2.5 or t6 available. no d5 soooo the t6's were the premium engine. transmission failures were common @ 35k and many would have been changed by the 100k mark.

avoid the t6 at all cost, i only have one because this one was recently changed before i acquired it! otherwise i would be in a 2.5 awd 7 passenger

Same problem here, don't do loads of miles maybe 5000 a year if that, but for my budget and what I want I'm looking at petrol. At moment only use about £10 a week in diesel for my discovery.Looking at 04 plate at mo,does anyone know how much the car tax is?

Default T6 mpg

54 plate T6 / 16mpg around the Isle of Wight, but have seen 22mpg when on a run on the mainland. Only do about 2500 mile a year so not a big problem with mpg.
